20.05.21 - Our Stone Age Afternoon
This term we have been learning all about the stone age. This afternoon, Using our knowledge of how they lived in the past, we we held our very own Stone Age Afternoon!
We looked at cave paintings and had a go at recreating our own with chalk and paint. We noticed that they painted bison, horses and people to tell stories in the caves which have helped us to learn about what life was like during that time.
We made jewellery and tools out of clay. Using shells and different materials we could create patterns in the clay just like the stone age people would have done.
We also had a go at some flint knapping, using soap. This is where you chip away at the stone to make it the shape that we wanted.
Finally we had a go at lighting a fire using flint. It wasn't as easy as it looked! In the stone age the only way to cook was lighting a fire, so we had a go at toasting our bread. What a brilliant afternoon!
