Our school council met with the Ambassador this week. We were very interested in her life. The key information we gained from the meeting was:

• Started as a diplomat, is now an ambassador.
• She has a background in Neuroscience and studying the brain.
• Speaks 8 languages, including Chinese and Japanese 
• Loves living in different countries 

Every day in the embassy is different, from dealing with people who have lost their passports to discussing with the government if a rocket can go over the country. She loves Iceland and especially the chance to swim in hot pools in the cold. Dr. Mathews wrote two books which she will send to us!

"We met Dr Mathews. She told us advice about life and all about her job. She taught us that you don't have to study a particular path to be in her role. She said that we should find something that we really enjoy but to also challenge ourselves."
