What Makes Us Special?

We continually work hard to give every child the best possible start to life. Our on-going determination and high expectations that every child will thrive is our drive across both schools. We jointly train staff; we equally share expertise across both schools and resources which would not happen if we were not in a federation. This is mutually beneficial. In Moreland and St Luke’s strong academic delivery and outcomes is supported by a warmth and genuine interest in every child.

Our learning for life programme and focus upon learning not just knowledge and skills but also emotional, social and spiritual learning is based upon the world of the child and how they perceive life. We build on children’s natural curiosity which takes learning outside the classroom stretching far and wide from residential school journeys to central London which is on our doorstep. We invite people from different professions in every week from brick layers to RAF tornado pilots who are interviewed by children in our dream catcher assemblies. They share how they got to where they are today. We do this to sow seeds of aspiration from an early age.

In November 2016 we moved into our fantastic new school building with its large, bright, airy classrooms which provide an excellent environment in which to challenge and stimulate our children. We have a large new school hall with stage lighting and sports equipment and dance studio, library and ICT room, family kitchen and full breakfast and after school programme. We have children from 0-11 years under one roof with excellent early year’s provision and work in partnership with the Children’s Centre. We enjoy large, extensive play and sports facilities, a flood lit sports pitch, a pond, ecology trail, cycle track and garden areas.

The children, their education, their safety and well-being are at the heart of all that we do and every decision that we make. The future is extremely bright for the children of Moreland Primary School.
