This term we are learning about Rosa Parks as our Black History Topic and part of our Global Citizenship theme of Equality and Rights. In English we will be reading Little People Big Dreams and writing a biography of Rosa Parks. In art we will be learning how to draw portraits and creating a portrait of Rosa Parks. We will also be comparing Rosa Parks to Emily Davison and finding out about the Suffragettes by taking part in a workshop at the Museum of London.
After half term we will be learning about the Great Fire of London. We will be visiting the Museum of London to take part in a London's Burning workshop and finding out more about the fire at the London Metropolitan Archives. We will also use our map reading skills to locate the key locations of the Great Fire on a walk. We will be working with 3 Discovery to create a stop animation about the events of the Great Fire of London and creating all of the art work in our Art and DT lessons. In English we will be reading Toby and the Great Fire of London and Raven Boy and we will write our own versions of Samuel Pepys diary.
Our science unit this term is Everyday Materials. We will be visiting the Science Museum to support our learning in Science.
