Executive Head Teacher letter

                                                                                                                     05.05.2020    Dear parents and carers,

I hope you are all keeping well. I am sure you have all been following the news regarding when schools will re-open either partially or fully. It looks like we will know more later this week. There is speculation and I have seen some contradictory reports so I hope that the decisions that are made will be based on solid scientific evidence with as much assurance of safety as possible. It does seem like the children have been off school for a long time. We have actually been off for 4 school weeks and had 2 weeks Easter holidays- the equivalent of the children being off for the 6 week summer holiday. We have certainly had the sun, which has helped but not the peace of mind. The expectation is that children should be learning from home whether this is directly from the blog on the website or through doing the paper work. I do have to say a huge thank you to you all for everything you are doing at home. Please let us know if you or your child is having any difficulty at all getting on the blog or with the work provided. There is a guide on how to go on the blog but sometimes it is easier to talk to someone. Thank you also for the posters, poems and pictures that we are putting on the fence. Please keep them coming- even if your child has done already done one. I am hoping for a really big public display of thanks to the NHS and to all who are keeping our country going from our school.  If you haven’t already, you will receive a phone call from either your child’s teacher or a member of staff or indeed me every week. I have not written to the children this week because I am going to do some assembly videos instead. The staff team and I are looking at extending the contact we have with the children to include a class chat.  There are a number of organisations in the area offering help such as ‘Help on your doorstep’ particularly but please do get in touch if you need any support at all- we’ll do our best to help.

Very best wishes to you and your families,

Ann Dwulit Executive head teacher
