24th February 2021
Dear parents and carers, News of change in leadership from September 2021: I hope you and your families are keeping well. After 40 years of full-time teaching, management and leadership, 26 years of being a head teacher of 4 different schools, 20 years of which have been at St Luke's and 10 at Moreland, I have decided to step down as executive head with effect from 1st September. I will however remain as an adviser and consultant to the two new headteachers when they are appointed. Dave Forsdick- chair of governors, the governing body and I are very confident that there is significant talent internally and whilst the details are still being worked up it is anticipated that acting heads for each school may be appointed with me helping their transition into their new roles, advising and supporting them. Whilst the detail is still under discussion we can’t see any reason why the smooth and gradual transition won’t secure the continued success of both schools. We will let you know more details when we can but please rest assured that both schools will continue to thrive. Arrangements for the next half term: You will have heard that all the children return to school on Monday 8th March. We are all absolutely delighted about this, as I am sure you are too. We will have the same staggered entry at the beginning and end of the day and Catherine Lawrence will send you more details next week. World Book Day is next Thursday 4th March. The teachers have planned some lovely activities to celebrate this event. Usually children dress up but because so many will still be home learning next week we have decided to have an additional celebration of reading before Easter- date to be confirmed. All the children are welcome to dress up on this day and will have lots of fun with books and reading. More details to follow.
Very best wishes, Ann Dwulit Executive head teacher
