Executive Headteacher Letter

Dear parents and carers,

I hope that you and your families remain safe and well.

I am writing following the Prime Minister’s recent announcement regarding the possible re-integration of more pupils in June.

By now you will all be aware that schools may reopen on 1 June 2020, at the earliest, to children from Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, if the government’s monitoring of the coronavirus situation indicates that it is safe for all to do so. This will inform our planning process for this proposed phased re-integration of pupils. Please be assured that once we have a more detailed plan we will of course share this with you, as soon as we are able to do so. This will enable you to begin to prepare your child with their transition into school.

May I take this opportunity to thank the many of you who have taken the time to reply to the parent survey and share your thoughts, worries and concerns with us about your child’s return to school. This will inform the planning process alongside DFE guidance, moving forward.

I know that this remains a time of great uncertainty for the whole school community but rest assured that we will do all we can to welcome these year groups back once it is deemed safe to do so. However, there is no pressure on any parent to send their child back to school at this moment of time should you choose not to do so. We will continue to keep you updated with all our preparations for making sure the school is as safe as possible, so you can make an informed decision regarding your child’s return to school. The DFE are updating their guidance daily for parents and carers:

In the meantime, the school remains open for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers. We understand that some employers will be encouraging you to return to work; however, we are not currently in a position to extend places to other children until further government guidance has been received and until it is safe.

As always, thank you for your continued support in helping your child learn from home; we all really appreciate what you are doing. Thank you too for your on-going co-operation and understanding as we move forward together into the next stage of restoring ‘normality’ as safely as we can.

Very best wishes,

Ann Dwulit
