25th March 2020
Dear parents and carers,
I hope that you and your families are all keeping safe and well in these difficult times. What a few weeks it’s been; unlike any other before and hopefully any week to come as we all settle down and come to terms with the situation. I am very aware of how difficult it is for you to look after, educate and keep your child happy at home. Children are so used to the Monday to Friday school routine- we all are. You will have received packs and there is a lot on the website for you to use for home learning. We are looking into a video link to the website- watch this space!
As you know, we are partially open for a minority of children whose parents are key workers or their work is critical to the COVID-19 response, to children with an education, health care plan and those with children services support. Parents of these children have all been told that the childcare we offer is a last resort option as we have very few staff able to work and are operating a rota system.
Packed lunches are available each day for those children entitled to free school meals. The local authority is thinking of changing this to voucher system so please look at the website for further details.
I really would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone in our school community for all your overwhelming support, kindness and thoughtfulness. I would also publically like to thank our amazing school team who have gone above and beyond in the past week or so to put everything in place. Please pass on my love and best wishes to your children. We miss them very much and hope that it won’t be too long before we are back to normal.
We will of course continue to up-date you of all developments and changes as and when we have them through the usual channels of communication during the coming weeks. I really do hope it won’t be too long before we are back to normal.
I send you and your families my very best wishes and hope you all keep well and safe.
