Learning at Home

School maybe closed but we are still here to help. We are adding lots of resources to our class pages to support learning at home. Don’t worry - you don’t have to do everything. Aim for some reading and maths everyday and then pick and choose what suits you as a family from the ideas we have provided. There are loads of things being put online at the moment and it can seem overwhelming to try and figure out what is best. We are looking through things and selecting the things we think might help but if you find other ideas you like out there then go for it!

If you are limited with access to technology or trying to share one device between you as a family don’t worry there are lots of practical ideas too. Older children can help their younger brothers and sisters with their learning too by reading them a story, playing a board game with them, singing and dancing together, playing eye spy, playing imaginary games etc. Every day family routines and activities are also great learning opportunities: cooking together, going to the shops, doing the housework, playing games, bed time stories and just plain old talking together. Remember to try and keep physically active even if you can’t go out. There is a link to an online PE lesson for children to do at home every day on the home learning page.

Keep safe and well and please get in touch if you need help with home learning ideas or anything else. Islington has launched a support organisation for people effected by Coronavirus and we can put you in touch if you need help with practical things or you are worried about finances.
