We had a brilliant time on Sports Day! We completed lots of different activities including egg and spoon races, hurdles, standing long jump and relay races.
This week we have been making maps of the River Thames. We looked at a selection of different maps and spotted various London landmarks that we recognised. We looked carefully at the position of the different landmarks and then made our own.
Our trip to Tower Bridge
We had a fantastic trip to Tower Bridge on 23/06/2021.
We got a coach to Tower Bridge and spotted London landmarks on the way. When we arrived we walked up 206 stairs to get to the top of the bridge, and we were very tired when we got to the top! We learnt lots about Tower Bridge and then completed a few activities. There was a glass floor in the walkway that we sat round and completed a spotter sheet of things that we could see underneath us. Then we did some lovely drawings of things we could see outside.
We had a picnic lunch and then walked along South Bank, talking about other landmarks we could see.
We had a really lovely day!
Starting our new topic London Calling - From A to Z
This week we started our new topic 'London Calling - From A to Z'.
We have been focusing on looking at maps. We started by looking at maps of the world, then zoomed into the United Kingdom and England. We then looked at maps of the local area, maps of the school and maps of the classroom.
We have been busy making maps and floor plans of these areas using a variety of resources. Some of us drew floor plans of the classroom, some of us used lego and some used blocks.
