Place 3 items in a bag beginning with ‘S’ (sock, scissors, spoon). Get your child to pick the items out of the bag one by one and name them. Can they tell you the sound that links the items together?
For children going to Reception - sound the letter ‘n’. Can you think of objects beginning with the sound ‘n’?

Place 3 items in a bag beginning with the sound ‘a’ (apple, avocado, ant). Get your child to pick the items out of the bag one by one and name them. Can they tell you the initial sound that links the items together?
For children going to Reception - sound the letter ‘n’. Practice writing the letter ‘n’ in different sizes.
Wednesday 10th June
Place 3 items in a bag beginning with the sound ‘t’ (top, teddy bear, tape). Get your child to pick the items out of the bag one by one and name them. Can they tell you the initial sound that links the items together?
If you are going to Reception - sound out the sound ‘n’. Can you point to the letter ‘n’?

Thursday 11th June
Place 3 objects beginning with the sound ‘p’ (pasta, plate, pen) into a bag. Ask your child to take each item out of the bag and name them. Can they hear the initial sound that connects the items? What sound is it?
Children going to Reception - write the letter ‘n’ on someone’s back with your finger. Can they guess the letter you are writing?
Friday 12th June
Phonics
Show your child the 4 pictures of a pan, a cloud, a peg and a pin. Say what each picture is with emphasis on the initial sound. Which is the odd word out? Can you post on tapestry your child saying each word with emphasis on the initial sounds?
