Welcome to Moreland Primary School from the Executive Head Teacher

A warm welcome to our school website which has been designed to give you as much information as possible about our lovely school and the way it works. OFSTED visited the school in March 2020 and confirmed that Moreland is still a good school where "pupils look forward to coming to school every day because they enjoy learning. Leaders are ambitious for them to do well and teachers help each pupil to achieve their very best." Moreland is an exciting, happy place in which to work and learn. We strive to develop a passion for learning which is driven by high quality teaching, a broad, balanced, interesting curriculum and by the fact that we know our children, their strengths, talents and potential all upon which we build.

Children in Moreland are valued as individuals and have the opportunity to excel. We actively nurture self-belief so children feel they can achieve anything with determination, perseverance and hard work. We expect all our children to reach age-related levels in line with national expectations as a minimum year on year. We aim to ensure that all barriers to learning are removed so every pupil reaches their own full potential. This includes regularly looking at every child’s capacity to achieve more.

At Moreland the leadership team work closely with teachers to ensure learning experiences are consistently creative, stimulating and inspiring to the children. Our learning for life programme which includes philosophy for children and enquiry led learning is innovative in itself and continually evolving.

There is a strong, positive mind set culture which children enjoy and respond to- Moreland’s Magnificent 8 based on 8 key attributes for positive learning. We place a lot of emphasis upon children being happy, confident and fulfilled. We do our best to motivate children so they naturally explore and routinely question, cultivating creativity, independence and individuality- a love of learning and a desire to know more.

The leadership team, staff, children, parents and governors work together in Moreland with collaboration and mutual respect. We are united and learn from each other and succeed together.

'Reaching higher than I dreamed, becoming the person that I want to be, doing the best I can for the world and for me.’- this is our mission.

I highly recommend Moreland to you and invite you to come and see for yourself what a fabulous school it is. Children leave Moreland aged 11 years with confidence and they have much in which to be confident about and are fully prepared for secondary school education- ready educationally, socially and emotionally.
