School Council 2025 -2026
We had a successful year. Here is a summary from our student leaders:

July 2026
On Tuesday 14th July, we activated our Snack Bar for the very first time. We had so much fruit it lasted a few days! It was an amazing success.

June 2026
We raised almost one hundred pounds for snacks for our snack bar!

May 2026:
We presented our idea to the PTA and the PTA were very onboard with the snack bar idea. They came up with a fundraiser idea to advocate some funds to complete the project as a one week test starter.
April 2026:
We met with MP Emily Thornberry to advocate for our snack bar. She agreed and helped us fine-tune the idea to advocate for all students rather than based on behaviour. See the article here: https://www.islingtontribune.co.uk/article/mp-emily-takes-steps-to-boost-pupils-campaign-for-more-fruit

January 2026
Our social action project this year will be to create a Snack Bar for Key Stage 2 to access at break time once or twice a week. We believe this will help students want to come to school and help students focus in class too! This term we have created a presentation to lead our pitch. School council will lead an assembly to share our action plan with Moreland. From there, we want to pitch to our School Parents Association and to Greggs to ask for funding for our healthy snacks.
November 2025:
School Council have been speaking to their classmates about Moreland Primary School and how we can make it even better. We have decided upon two different social action projects to work on this academic school year. We are hoping to plan and implement one with the help of our school community and the local community.
September 2025:
Our School Council 2025 -2026 met to think about leadership qualities and how to use our student voice. Here from the students below!
