Meeting Minutes:
Our Eco Team have been meeting regularly this term, working hard to make our school a greener place. Recently, we created colourful and informative posters to remind each class to use their recycling bins correctly and reduce waste.
We also took some time to reflect on our Earth Day celebrations – a brilliant day full of creativity, learning, and care for our planet. You can read more about what we got up to below!
Earth Day - 22nd April 2025
We marked Earth Day with a day full of creativity, curiosity, and care for our planet. Our pupils immersed themselves in nature-based activities, showing their passion for the environment in imaginative and inspiring ways.
Children across the school created beautiful natural art using leaves, twigs, petals and stones collected from King's Square Gardens. Each piece was a unique tribute to the beauty of the natural world.
As part of our efforts to support local wildlife, pupils also built their own bug hotels, carefully designed to provide shelter for insects and other tiny creatures. It was wonderful to see the children working collaboratively and thinking critically about how to support biodiversity right here at school.
In addition, the children carried out independent research on young eco warriors – from climate activists to inventors – and shared what they learned through posters, presentations and class discussions. They were especially inspired by how young people just like them are making a real difference in the world.
We’re incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and thoughtfulness shown by all our pupils. Earth Day has reminded us that every action, no matter how small, can help protect our planet for future generations.
